OUR COMMITMENT
Sustainable production is an important issue for us, and goes all the way back to the stage of procuring raw materials. In 2023 we purchased 13 % of our cotton on a Fairtrade basis. For the production process at our main plant in Amriswil we buy renewable energy produced in Thurgau, whilst our plant in Portugal uses its own photovoltaic system to produce 100% energy required for heat and processing. In this way we are making our contribution to sustainable development.

FAIRTRADE MAX HAVELAAR
We are one of the Fairtrade partners in the textile industry.
Thanks to the Fairtrade Cotton Program, the small farmers and workers families in the South benefit from stable prices, fair trade and ecological bonuses, as well as improved working conditions and organic farming. The observance of international Fairtrade standards is monitored independently by a certification agency. The processing chain is transparent and conforms to established social criteria.
With the Fairtrade Cotton Program, 13 % of ISA Sallmann AG cotton was bought on Fairtrade terms in the year 2023. (Declared retrospectively). The Fairtrade Cotton Program enables small-scale farmers to benefit by selling more of their cotton as Fairtrade.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CLIMATE PROTECTION
We take responsibility - for our employeesour environment and our society! Together we are committed to a sustainable future.
For ISA Sallmann AG, it is a central concern to make our contribution to climate protection. We have therefore committed ourselves to reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions as part of a target agreement with act Cleantech Agentur Schweiz. The goal of our agreement with act is to save 3584 megawatts of electricity and heating energy by 2029. At the same time, we want to reduce our CO2 emissions by over 100t per year.
To implement the target agreement, act's energy specialist Félix Hantzsche has drawn up a comprehensive catalogue of measures, which we are consistently implementing. The effectiveness of the measures is checked and our progress is recorded in an annual monitoring by the act energy specialist.
The target agreement is an instrument recognised by the federal government and the cantons. The goal route is also monitored and checked by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) and the Federal Office of Energy (SFOE). Our efforts have been recognised by act with the Certificate for Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection.
