We sew with 100 % solar power!
Producing our fashion as resource-efficiently as possible is a genuine concern for us and begins right at the stage of electricity generation.
Our plant in Portugal produces a large part of the required process and heating energy through its own solar installation. This solar installation was put into operation in 2013 and has since contributed to sustainable development. Until now, around 70 % of the required energy could be covered by the installation.
The generation of electricity through solar installations does not rely on fossil fuels. In contrast to coal or gas, generating electricity through solar installations contributes to reduced CO2 emissions.
Solar energy is not only productive, it also offers further advantages. When installations are mounted on buildings, there is almost no interference with the landscape: nature and species conservation can be preserved.
Solar power is inexhaustible, environmentally friendly and an important part of the future electricity supply worldwide.
In recent months, we have expanded the solar installation on the roof of the company. We are very pleased to now be able to cover 100 % of the required electricity through our own solar installations.
In total, 680 solar panels are set to produce 215000 kWh of solar power per year for ISA in future!
